A driver wanted in connection with suspected "reckless driving"  led officials on a pursuit through several Southern California counties Friday evening before he surrendered in a parking lot.

A man driving a black Isuzu Rodeo first  caught authorities' attention when he allegedly failed to yield for a traffic stop in Santa Barbara, a spokesman with the California Highway Patrol said. He drove erratically on the southbound 101 Freeway  just after 6 p.m. as authorities followed him in the Moorpark area.

Speeds exceeded 100 mph as officers pursued the driver who weaved through lanes on the busy roadway during what is commonly rush-hour traffic.

Officers continued to follow the SUV onto the southbound 405 Freeway and eastbound 10 Freeway, before the driver exited at Fairfax Avenue where he drove into a gated parking lot of an apartment complex.

He exited the vehicle and appeared to change his clothing before authorities entered the parking lot and took him into custody without incident.

The chase lasted about an hour and a half, officials said.
