85-Year-Old Woman Describes Home Invasion

The woman, who did not want her name revealed publicly, told NBC4 that the man threatened to rape her if she did not give him money and jewelry.

A woman describes how a man forced his way into her Orange County home and demanded money and jewelry. Gadi Schwartz reports from Buena Park for the NBC4 News at 11 on Monday, April 7, 2014.

An 85-year-old Buena Park woman experienced what she called the worst day of her life after a man allegedly forced his way into her home Monday.

The alleged home invasion occurred just before noon on Monday in the 8300 block of San Capistrano Way, Buena Park police Cpl. Andy Luong said.

The woman, who did not want her name revealed publicly, told NBC4 that the man threatened to rape her if she did not give him money and jewelry.

"I said, 'Get out of my house,' and he lunged for me and he grabbed me," the woman said. "He had me, he said, 'Don't move, I have a knife in your back,' and I felt something sticking me right in here, I don't know what it was and he pulled me as tight as he could and then he put (his hand on my mouth) and held me as tight as he could."

The woman described to NBC4 how she managed to escape. She said the man then dragged her into the bedroom and that's where she broke free.

"Somehow I don't know how I did it, I don’t even remember myself. The next thing I know I'm outside screaming and that is when he took off," the woman said.

The woman wanted to share her story so that the public is reminded not to open doors for strangers and to make sure people remember to lock their doors.

The home invader was seen getting away in a flatbed truck that was hauling some sort of dumpster. He was described as a white or Latino man in his mid-20s, about 5-foot-7 with a thin build.

"I hope you’re caught buddy, you mean bastard," the woman said.
