Police on Saturday were looking for two men involved in an argument at a restaurant that escalated into a fatal stabbing in Santa Ana.
The incident began before 1 p.m. at the El Chile Picante restaurant at 1919 S. Main St. Two men got into an argument with a third man in the restaurant before going outside.
Once there, the men tried to coax the third man outside of the restaurant, but he wouldn't leave.
“They grab him by the arm,” said Lt. Anthony Bertagna, of the Santa Ana Police Department.
“They attempt to get him to leave the location. He doesn’t.”
The man eventually left on his own and went across the street to the parking lot of the business where a fight broke out that led to the stabbing, witnesses said.
At one point, the man managed to break away from his attackers and run across the street where he collapsed, police said.
Officers found him on the ground with at least one stab wound, police said.

He died at a hospital, police said.
