‘Inseparable Pair' of Barn Animals Finds a New Home Together

The 1-year-old pig and the 2-year-old sheep are inseparable and are often found snuggling and cuddling in their pen.

A young pig and sheep found in Jurupa Valley, California, are inseparable barn buddies, according to an animal services agency. They often cuddle together in their pen.

An inseparable pair of farm animals has been adopted, and they are headed to a new Southern California home where they can continue their companionship.

The 1-year-old pig and 2-year-old sheep were spotted on a woman's property in Jurupa Valley on Oct. 24. A Riverside County animal control officer picked up the pair, the county animal shelter said.

The two animals are often seen cuddling and snuggling together in their pen, according to the Riverside County Department of Animal Services.

Alicia Pell, a representative of the nonprofit rescue organization Farm Sanctuary, adopted the pair on Nov. 5. Both animals are now staying in Farm Sanctuary's Southern California Shelter, a ranch in Acton.

Farm Sanctuary shelters approximately 100 animals on their 26-acre Southern California shelter. They rescue these animals so that they can live on a farm for the rest of their lives, Riverside County Animal Services' John Welsh said.

The pig and sheep are still unnamed, but Pell said they are settling in well together at the ranch.
