J. Paul Getty Museum

Getty Museum seeks to inspire curiosity about, and enjoyment and understanding of, the visual arts by collecting, conserving, exhibiting and interpreting works of art of outstanding quality and historical importance. To fulfill this mission, the Museum continues to build its collections through purchase and gifts, and develops programs of exhibitions, publications, scholarly research, public education, and the performing arts that engage our diverse local and international audiences. All of these activities are enhanced by the uniquely evocative architectural and garden settings provided by the Museum's two renowned venues: the Getty Villa and the Getty Center.

Beginning in May, 2019, the J. Paul Getty Museum will be accepting applications from anyone who has a passion to connect intellectually and emotionally with the Museum’s visitors in our galleries and on our site. Getty Docents volunteer for weekly or bi-weekly, four-hour shifts and lead visitors and K-12 students through the galleries and across the site. Positions for Gallery Docents, Site Docents, and School Group Docents are available at both the Getty Center and the Getty Villa. If you love connecting with others through art, then we want to talk to you!  To volunteer, click here.
