Los Angeles Lakers owner Jerry Buss is hospitalized at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center, sources confirmed to NBC4 on Thursday.
Buss has been in the intensive care unit for quite some time, sources said.
The team has yet to comment on the situation. A spokesperson at Cedars would also not comment due to privacy reasons.
The 79-year-old has not been in good health for several years.
He spent time in a hospital last summer for dehydration. In December 2011, he was hospitalized for treatment of blood clots in his legs that officials said were caused by extensive traveling.
Buss has owned the Lakers since 1979.
Lakers fans said they were shocked by the news and wished Buss a speedy recovery.
