Three suspects have been arrested, police say

Police say at least two men wearing masks walked into a tire store and opened fire, killing an employee and a customer. Three suspects have been detained and are in custody thanks to a Good Samaritan. Jacob Rascon reports from San Bernardino for the NBC4 News at 5 p.m. on Aug. 23, 2012

Two people were fatally shot Thursday at a tire shop and three suspects are under arrest after a Good Samaritan followed them, according to San Bernardino police.

Lt. Paul Williams says two masked suspects didn't speak before opening fire with handguns at about 10 a.m. at JMC Tire Shop near the intersection of Baseline Street and Sepulveda Avenue in San Bernardino.

One victim was an employee of the tire shop, the other was a customer. The names of the victims have not been released.

The two suspects then fled to a silver compact vehicle that was followed by a Good Samaritan who called police.

Williams says police pulled over the vehicle a short time later, within a mile of the crime scene. After finding evidence in the vehicle, they arrested three people.

"Several suspects have been detained, a weapon has been located and the suspects have been identified as the shooters involved in this crime," Williams said.

Williams says the third suspect may have been a getaway driver.
