A 22-year-old woman is believed to have been abducted by her ex-boyfriend after the pair got into a fight in East Los Angeles. Police are asking for the public’s help to find them. Kate Larsen reports for the NBC4 News at 11 p.m. on Oct. 19, 2013.
Police asked for the public’s help Saturday to find a missing 22-year-old Southern California woman allegedly abducted by her ex-boyfriend.
The couple was last seen fighting at about 7 p.m. Friday in the 4000 block of North Huntington Drive in East Los Angeles, according to the Los Angeles Police Department.
Police said Karen Pineda, 22, and Jose Luis Marin, 28, broke up three weeks ago after dating for several years.
There are previous incidents of domestic violence between the two, which is why when Duran showed up at Pineda's family's apartment Friday, the woman's mother became worried as the couple fought.
"The mother wanted to call the police. The victim said, 'Don't call the police because it might escalate, he might get more mad,'" LAPD Lt. Carlos Solano said.
Marin shoved Pineda into her mother's car and drove off, police said. The 28-year-old, pictured below, also goes by the name Jose Luis Marin Duran.
He is described as a Hispanic male with black hair and brown eyes, about 5 feet 7 inches tall and 170 pounds. He has a tattoo of a spider on one of his elbows and the name “Matthew” and skulls inked on his back.

Pineda is described as a Hispanic female with brown hair and brown eyes, standing about 5 feet 1 inch tall about weighing about 170 pounds. She was last seen wearing an orange tank top and blue jeans.
The couple was last seen in a silver 2004 Nissan Altima, a four-door sedan pictured below, with California license plate 6MPU056.
Police said neither Pineda nor Marin have a cellphone.
