Just Play Ball Kobe, Let Maxine Waters Do the Talking

And you thought Kobe Bryant could talk trash.

Rep. Maxine Waters wouldn't even shake Rep. Corrine Brown's hand.

"The only reason I'm here with your this evening, Corrine, is to bring my condolences," Waters said.

The two Democratic Congresswomen showed their pride before the NBA Finals in a YouTube video. The two-minute video features the two sparring about the matchup -- Waters in a Kobe Bryant jersey, Brown in a Dwight Howard jersey.

Waters Shows Lakers Pride

"Who have you got? I've got Kobe," Waters (D-Calif.) said. "Did you know that Kobe averages 29.6 points per game?"

"He's going to need it," Brown (D-Fla.) responded. "We're bringing a team. Not one person."

Brown's Magic returned to Orlando down 2-0 in the best-of-seven series. The Lakers won Game 2 Sunday night, 101-96 in overtime.

Waters also expounds on the talents of center Paul Gasol.

"He carries on the legend of all the great centers of the Lakers," Waters said. "He is bad."

The video, made before the series started, had both pols, who are friends, confident of their team's abilities.

"We gonna show you what it's all about. One team, one fight. Both teams are great but in the end it'll be the Magic," Brown said.
