Groper on Green Bicycle Sought in Long Beach

Police say a man groped women on four separate occasions and rode away on a bicycle.

There’s an alert in Long Beach for a man on a bicycle who, police say, he’s been groping women and then rides away. Hetty Chang reports for NBC4 News at 11 p.m. on Jan. 25, 2019.

Long Beach police sought public help on Friday to find a man who groped women on four separate occasions and rode away on a bicycle.

The crimes occurred between July and December of 2018, according to the Long Beach Police Department.

"In each of the incidents, the suspect approached the victims on a bicycle, groped them, then fled on the bicycle," police said.

The incidents occurred on the following dates, times and locations:

  • July 29, 2:20 a.m., 300 block of Molino Avenue;
  • Aug. 29, 11:50 a.m., Sixth Street and Alamitos Avenue;
  • Sept. 19, 7:45 a.m., Eighth Street and Junipero Avenue;
  • Dec. 27, 8:10 a.m., 4000 block of East Massachusetts Street.

The man was described as Hispanic, 40 to 50 years old, 5 feet 7 inches to 6 feet 2 inches tall, weighing 150-200 pounds, with gray hair. He rode a green bicycle.

Anyone with information about the case, or who may have been victimized by the suspect, was urged to call detectives at (562) 570-7372, or Crime Stoppers at (800) 222-TIPS.
