Authorities are scrambling to find a convicted thief who escaped from the Twin Towers county jail in downtown Los Angeles by impersonating another inmate. Lolita Lopez reports from downtown LA for the NBC4 News at 5 p.m. on Thursday, March 13, 2014.
An inmate sentenced Wednesday in connection with a burglary at a Southern California medical center escaped just hours later from Los Angeles County Jail.
Authorities are searching for 37-year-old Christopher Lee Brown. Details regarding the escape were not immediately available, but authorities said he was reported missing sometime Thursday morning after leaving downtown Los Angeles' Twin Towers Correctional Facility.

Surveillance cameras captured images of Brown, wearing a black shirt, leaving the inmate reception area.
The Alhambra man was sentenced earlier this week to four years and eight months in county jail for stealing computers from a medical center, possibly compromising patient data. He was convicted March 6 of two counts of second-degree commercial burglary and one count of receiving stolen property.

Jail records show Brown was arrested Dec. 3. by Alhambra police after a break-in at the AHMC Healthcare building in Alhambra. Two computers and three flash drives containing thousands of patients' information were stolen.
