A man was fatally shot Monday and two women were injured when a fight at a Hacienda Heights party led to gunfire, authorities said.
Authorities went to the 15300 block of Manzanita Drive about 1:30 a.m. on a report of a shooting, said sheriff's Deputy Trina Schrader. The party was at a residence on nearby Vallecito Drive.
"When deputies arrived, they discovered a man lying on the ground suffering from at least one gunshot wound to the upper torso," Schrader said.
The 33-year-old man died at the scene. His name was withheld pending notification of his relatives.
Two women in their 20s suffered non-life-threatening injuries, Schrader said.
"One received a gunshot wound to the upper torso," the deputy said.
"She was transported to a local hospital in stable condition. The second female was treated at the scene for minor injuries related to the shooting -- not a gunshot wound."
No suspect information was available.
Anyone with information on the crime was urged to call the Sheriff's Homicide Bureau at 323-890-5500, or Crime Stoppers at 800-222-TIPS.
This is the second shooting involving a house party in this area in just two days. The shootings are not connected, authorities said.
