“Monkey's Paw” Claws Special Theater Dates

Update on classic horror tale gets special event screening with cast and crew.

Chiller Film's latest fright-fest claws its way into theaters with special screenings.

Based on the horror short story by author W. W. Jacobs, "The Monkey's Paw" picks up where the original left off. First published in England in 1902, the tale revolves around the famous "setup" in which three wishes are granted to whomever holds the amputated body part. But those wishes come with an enormous price for interfering with fate.

In this new installment of the classic from Chiller Films, Jake Tilton (actor C.J. Thomason) acquires the mystical talisman and finds his world turned upside down after his first two wishes result in his malevolent coworker, Tony Cobb ("Terra Nova's" Stephen Lang), being resurrected from the dead. When Cobb pressures Jake into using the final wish to reunite Cobb with his son, his intimidation quickly escalates into relentless murder—forcing Jake to outwit his psychotic friend and save his remaining loved ones.

The movie also stars Corbin Bleu of "High School Musical" fame, Charles S. Dutton, Tauvia Dawn and Michelle Pearce.

"The Monkey's Paw" will be released On Demand on Oct. 8, but Los Angeles residents have the opportunity to watch the film on the big screen at a special screening at Santa Moncia's Aero Theatre on Oct. 4 at 7.30 pm.

Following the one-off event will be a discussion with actors C.J. Thomason, Michelle Pierce, Daniel Hugh Kelly, Andy Favreau and Jacob Robinson, director Brett Simmons, producer Ross Otterman and director of photography Scott Winig.
