A man suspected of brandishing a handgun led Los Angeles Police Department officers on an approximately two-hour chase on a motorcycle in the West San Fernando Valley Thursday night before being taken into custody.
Officers responded to a report about an armed man, possibly with a mental health condition, around 5 p.m. in the 23000 block of Windom Street, police said. When police arrived at the scene, they discovered the man, who pointed a handgun at officers, according to the department.
The man took off on the motorcycle.
According to LAPD, the driver was sought for earlier waving a gun near Chaminade High School.

The chase was mainly on streets, including Mulholland Highway, but also briefly on the southbound 101 Freeway.
The chase came to an end on Windom Street and Melba Avenue in West Hills, where officers pounced on him in his driveway, taking him into custody following a brief scuffle.
No shots were fired, and there were no reports of any injuries.
