A driver of a black Range Rover was taken into custody after a lengthy pursuit through Orange County Thursday night.

The California Highway Patrol chased the vehicle through highways and residential areas mostly in the city of Fullerton.

The driver traveled at normal speeds for the majority of the pursuit, travelling through areas like downtown Fullerton, Fullerton College and Cal State Fullerton.

CHP followed the driver on streets and on highways, reaching areas like Placentia and Garden Grove.

The driver was cornered at one point in an empty parking lot on the intersection of Orangethorpe and Brookhurst in Fullerton.

CHP set up a spike strip that popped the vehicles tires, but did not stop the driver for quite some time.

The tires began to rip as the driver started losing control of the vehicle.
