Man Arrested in Compton After Hiding Out After Pursuit

A man was captured after hiding out in a yard in Compton after leading police on a pursuit Thursday.

The pursuit began around 11:22 p.m. in Lakewood on the westbound 91 Freeway near the 710 Freeway. The pursuit was initiated by Los Angeles County sheriff's deputies from the Lakewood station, according to the California Highway Patrol.

The man was suspected of driving under the influence. The driver led police on a pursuit to Compton where the pursuit ended.

The suspect fled his vehicle and ran into a friend's home in the 200 block of West Cedar Street.

The suspect was taken into custody around 11:50 p.m.
