Four people robbed a Culver City bank and two remain on the run. Ted Chen reports for the NBC4 News at 5 and 6 p.m. on Jan. 21, 2016.

Two men were detained and at least two others were being sought Thursday after shots were fired during a bank robbery in Culver City, officials said.

The robbery was reported just after 9 a.m. at One West Bank in the 10700 block of Jefferson Boulevard, according to the Culver City Police Department and the Culver City Fire Department.

Police said witnesses saw four men at the scene and shots were fired but no one was injured.

A perimeter was set up near the 1300 block of Hannum Avenue after one of the suspects was seen running nearby.

Aerial video showed police tape surrounding a large part of the Studio Village Shopping Center, where customers of a T.J. Maxx department store had been evacuated.

Police said one suspect was detained after he was located in a nearby neighborhood. A second suspect was caught after an employee at a T.J. Maxx alerted police of a suspicious person. Two men were still outstanding.

Authorities went door-to-door searching for the men using K-9s and an armored vehicle in the area of Vera and Malat ways for more than six hours, Culver City police said. Residents were advised to stay indoors during the search.

According to the Culver City Unified School District, students at El Marino Language School and El Rincon Elementary School were on modified lockdown due to the search for several hours. The district tweeted that students were "safe and accounted for," and advised parents not to pick up their children.
