The National Weather Service issued a severe thunderstorm warning in Western Los Angeles County Thursday afternoon.
The warning expired before 4:30 p.m. after the weather system brought hail along with heavy downpours and gusty winds up to 60 mph.
The National Weather Service said some areas saw 1 to 2 inches of rain within one hour.
For one, in Woodland Hills near Pierce College, up to 0.70 inches of rain was accumulated within a 30-minute period amid the fast-moving thunderstorm.

A special weather statement was in effect in Pasadena, El Monte, West Covina until 5:45 p.m. to alert people about dangerously windy conditions and pea-sized hail.

A flash flood warning was also issued in Ventura and LA Counties, including Beverly Hills, Pomona, Glendora and Covina. Weather officials said life-threatening flash flooding and landslides were possible due to the thunderstorms.
Drivers were urged to travel carefully and avoid flooded roads.
