Three people are hospitalized, including a 4-year-old boy, after a shooting in Pasadena Friday night, police said.
Officers answered the shooting call at 8:50 p.m. in the 1800 block of North Summit Avenue (map) in the northern part of the city.
"As far as we know, there were at least three male Hispanics on foot -- in front of the location -- that had fired a handgun toward the residents," Pasadena Police Lt. Jason Clawson said.
"This appears right now to be random," Clawson added when asked about possible gang connections.
The victims were inside a building when gunfire struck them, police said.
Paramedics transported two men, ages 32 and 55, to Huntington Memorial Hospital, police said. A parent took the 4-year-old to the hospital, Clawson said.
The injuries of the men and the child were non-life-threatening, though the child was more seriously injured, Clawson said.

The shooters were descrived as men between the ages of 18 and 20, one of whom had a shaved head.
The motive behind the incident is under investigation.
