Police Search for Pursuit Driver Who Ditched Car and Fled Into a Carson Backyard

The driver of a pickup truck led police on a dangerously high-speed pursuit on Friday, Dec. 1, 2017 from Orange County to Carson after he failed to yield for speeding. After he seemingly ran out of gas, the driver abandoned the pickup truck and fled into a residential area in Carson in an attempt to escape police.

Authorities are continuing their search effort for the driver of a pickup truck who led them on a dangerous, high-speed pursuit on Friday, Dec. 1, 2017 from Orange County to Carson after the driver ditched his vehicle and fled into a residential area.

The pursuit began at approximately 10:40 p.m. in Orange County after the driver was wanted by the California Highway Patrol for speeding.

The erratic driver maneuvered through multiple freeways at speeds that exceeded 100 mph and surface streets at an estimated 65 mph. He drove without any headlights throughout the hour-long pursuit and had paper license plates.

He ditched the vehicle at 11:26 p.m. and fled into a backyard in the area of East 213th Street and Water Street after he seemingly ran out of gas. He remains at large.
