A wild, high-speed police chase ended Friday when the driver of a suspected stolen vehicle surrendered in Long Beach.
Compton sheriff's deputies started pursuing the vehicle at around 7:30 p.m. Long Beach police later took over the chase.
The driver ditched the car near train tracks and ran away. He surrendered near Atlantic Avenue and 51st Street.
At one point, he let a passenger out of the car and continued on with the chase, driving at high speeds.
