Stars Descend on Skid Row for LA Mission's Christmas Celebration

Hundreds of charity workers began preparing 4,000 turkey meals with all the trimmings at 4:30 a.m.

Stars and volunteers alike will be working hard at the Los Angeles Mission's annual Christmas celebration in Skid Row Wednesday.

Hundreds of charity workers began preparing up to 5,000 turkey meals with all the trimmings at 4:30 a.m. Last minute toy wrapping continued in the special Santa's Workshop set up in the main dining area.

Celebrities, political leaders and hundreds volunteers will be serving all comers when meals start being served at 11 a.m. At 11:15 a.m. the Christmas Wonderland opens, and Santa will begin distribution goodies to needy youngsters. The event is scheduled to finish at 3 p.m.
