2 People Shot, 1 Killed in Attack on Street

Two people were shot, leaving a man dead and a woman injured in Duarte Sunday night, the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department said. Kate Larsen reports for the NBC4 News at 11.

Two people were shot on the street, leaving a man dead and a woman injured, in unincorporated Monrovia Sunday night, the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department said.

Neighbors said they heard seven to eight shots and then saw a body in the street. 

The shooting occurred at Shrode and Lincoln avenues at 7 p.m. Deputies intially said the shooting had taken place in Duarte but later said the location was in unincorporated territory.

The male victim was killed at the scene after getting shot multiple times in the torso, LASD said.

The woman was transported to a local hospital.  She was in stable condition after taking a bullet to the leg, according to LASD. 

The man and the woman did not know each other, deputies said. 

The two were walking down the street when the shooting occurred.
