Woman Finds Snake in Car Engine

Animal Control extracts a 10 foot boa constrictor in Lancaster

A woman in Lancaster found a snake under her car that was wrapped around her engine Wednesday.

After shopping, the woman saw the tail of the 10-foot boa constrictor underneath her car. Animal Control was called to the scene to collect the snake, and discovered that the constrictor was wrapped around the car's engine.

The snake was freed after a half an hour struggle and the help of some cooking oil to loosening the snake's grip on the engine.

Authorities say that the constrictor is most likely an escaped pet. They will keep the snake for two weeks, for someone to claim it, and then put it up for adoption.
