A burglar who appears to be a school boy wearing a backpack was caught on surveillance video breaking into a home. Beverly White reports for the NBC4 News at 11 p.m. on Wednesday, Sept. 30, 2015.

Police were searching Wednesday for a young burglar caught on camera breaking into a Pasadena home.

The burglar, who looks about 15-years-old, could seen on home surveillance video roaming through a residence Tuesday in the 700 block of Canyon Wash Drive.

The homeowners said the burglar entered the home through a window into the bathroom while the family was at work.

Alicia Lopez, said she didn't realize their home was burglarized until she noticed hundreds of dollars worth of jewelry was missing from on top of her dresser.

Lopez believes the burglar will be recognized and caught.

"He's a young kid. He's ruining his life. He has an opportunity to go to school and become someone. Go to school. Get educated. Don't waste your time and ruin your life this way. It's not worth it," she said.

The burglar was last seen walking northbound on Canyon Wash Drive.
