A magnitude-2.8 earthquake shook the Inland Empire early Tuesday morning.
The quake, located four miles north-northwest of Fontana and five miles west-northwest of Rialto in San Bernardino County, struck at approximately 3 a.m.
Residents report that they heard the earthquake before they felt it.
"Just had an earthquake in the Rialto area," Malinda Hernandez posted on Facebook. "Heard a rumble and then a lil jolt."
Another viewer echoed Hernandez’s thoughts.
“I heard it before I felt it, then a quick jolt,” Elisett Angelique said.
A magnitude-4.4 earthquake struck the same region in January.
