Man Accused of Beating Elderly Man on Bus Arrested

An altercation between the two men was caught on tape.

A man who allegedly beat up an elderly man on a bus in Culver City has been arrested, police said Wednesday.

He name was not immediately released.

The suspect was with a woman on the bus around 1:45 p.m. on Nov. 22 when he got into some sort of argument with the older man.

After a few seconds of arguing, he can be seen on surveillance video standing up and repeatedly punching the man in the head and face. Both the man and the woman left the scene, and the victim was hospitalized with non-life-threatening injuries, according to a statement from the Culver City Police Department.

The suspect was described as a man in his early 20s with a mustache or goatee.

Police were also looking to speak with the woman the suspect was with at the time. She was described as in her early 20s and has dark hair. She was wearing a black shirt and black pants and carrying a skateboard at the time of the incident.
