A man is in critical condition after being stabbed while walking to his car in an Orange County grocery store parking lot Saturday night.

Officers responded around 9 p.m. to a stabbing in the Stater Brothers parking lot located at 11085 Warner Avenue, according to a news release from the Fountain Valley Police Department.
Emergency personnel found a man with stab wounds to his chest. He was taken to a hospital where he underwent emergency surgery and is listed in critical condition, officials said. The 50-year-old victim underwent at least two surgeries.
Investigators said the victim was walking to his car when a teenager demanded his car keys. The confrontation turned violent when the victim was stabbed about four times, police said.
Responding officers detained a 17-year-old boy who matched the suspect description about a block away from the crime scene. The teen was later identified by witnesses, authorities said.
The teen was arrested on suspicion of attempted carjacking and attempted murder. He was booked into Orange County Juvenile Hall.
