Powerful Earthquake Hits Southern Japan

A 6.4 magnitude earthquake has rattled southern Japan. The quake struck Kumamoto Prefecture on Japan’s southwestern Kyushu Island at 9:26 p.m. Thursday local time. Japan’s Meteorological Agency says there is no risk of tsunami.
