Bethenny Frankel Quits NY “Housewives” After Painful Season

Reality TV star no longer finds the show enjoyable

The ex-“Real Housewives” starlet said she is happy with the success of her latest reality show “Bethenny Getting Married,” but the new mom – who spoke at the Target opening bash in East Harlem last night – revealed she has no plans to return to “Housewives.”

Bethenny Frankel said she is through with the drama of the "Real Housewives of New York."

The new mom, who recently starred solo in a successful spin-off series "Bethenny Getting Married," said she is opting out of Season 4 of the Bravo hit reality series.

"Last season was scary and painful," the 39-year old told Us Weekly. "It took all of the joy out of it."

Frankel's feud with castmember and former friend Jill Zarin played out on the small screen during last season of "Housewives." Frankel was especially hurt when Zarin back-stabbed the best-selling author by trash talking the cast mates, she said.

Things were also turbulent between Frankel and fellow housewife Kelly Killoren Bensimon.

Frankel hardly needs the day job. The natural foods chef leads a franchise of books, recipes, and even a workout DVD called "Body By Bethenny." The premiere for her reality show "Bethenny Getting Married" was the highest rated for a new Bravo show, attracting 2 million viewers.

Zarin is also unsure of her return to the show. She told NBC Niteside two weeks ago that she couldn't give a definite yes or no to season 4.
