Jeff Bezos: Treatment of Seller Was Not Acceptable

During a House Antitrust Subcommittee Hearing Wednesday, Rep. Lucy McBath, D-Ga., played testimony from a third-party seller on Amazon who claims the company retaliated against her when her bookselling business grew too successful. “As we grew, we were shrinking Amazon’s marketshare in the textbook category,” the small business owner said. “In retaliation, Amazon started restricting us from selling. We haven’t sold a single book in the last 10 months. We were never given a reason.”
