Birmingham Airport “All Clear” After Written Bomb Threat Prompts Evacuation

Birmingham-Shuttlesworth International Airport is all clear after the discovery of a written bomb threat prompted an evacuation Sunday afternoon, NBC News reported. Airport and law enforcement officials responded "to a threat received around 4:00 p.m.,” the airport said in a post on its Facebook page, which also said that the airport had been evacuated. Nearly all outgoing flights were delayed. At least seven incoming flights were diverted to other airports, including the Huntsville International Airport, Nashville International Airport and Montgomery Regional Airport, according to real-time tracking information on the airport's website.
