Some 50,000 soccer fans poured in for the first game at the $1.3 billion Levi's Stadium Saturday.
The San Jose Earthquakes played the Seattle Sounders at 7:30 p.m. The game marked the first major ticketed event to take place at Levi's Stadium since it broke ground about two years ago. And while it was not the San Francisco 49ers taking the field, the Earthquakes were excited as they beat the Sounders 1-0.
Months of planning were put to the test, on the field, in the stands and in the parking lots. Fans had mixed reaction about traffic, sinage and crowd control at the new stadium. Some relied on directions posted on the Levi's Stadium website to get to the stadium.
Some complained about long lines to board the VTA light rail train after the game ended.
