Watch: CDC Visualizes Data Informing New K-12 Guidance

On Friday, President Joe Biden and Vice President Kamala Harris visited the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention in Atlanta to receive an update on the fight against the pandemic. Dr. Henry Walke, incident manager for the CDC’s COVID-19 response, explained how community transmission levels inform new guidance like the K-12 update allowing a distance of three feet with masks in the classroom. He noted that 27% of counties in the U.S. currently have moderate or low case rates, and that number continues to increase every week. The CDC is also tracking virus mutations, which may affect the efficacy of vaccines, therapeutics and testing.
