A 7-year-old girl reportedly made the call to 911 reporting a man with a gun.

Sgt. Vicki Cervantes said the young girl also pointed out the suspect to officers at Seccombe Lake.

"Apparently she said there were subjects at the park with guns, or a subject with a gun, and they were going to kill her dad," Cervantes said.

Officers said they detained one suspect at the park, and chased another across the street.

After chasing the suspect across the street and down the alley, they shot and killed him.

"I don't know what transpired between he and the officer in that alley," Cervantes said.

Investigators did not reveal whether they found the suspect’s gun, and the department said it would launch an investigation into the incident.
