Officers aboard boats took an assault suspect into custody Monday after he allegedly wielded an ax and then jumped into MacArthur Park lake in the Westlake district, police said.
The alleged assault suspect was trying to elude officers by swimming in the lake.
Details about the suspect were not immediately available.
Officers were able to take him into custody, and hose him down, after about three hours.
