Woman Fatally Shot by Police After Stabbing Therapist at Office

The attacker was barricaded inside the office with the stabbing victim when officer forced their way in and opened fire

A woman who wounded her psychologist with a knife and holed up into the therapist’s office with the victim was shot and killed by Fullerton police this morning, police said. Vikki Vargas reports for the NBC4 News on Thursday, May 31, 2018.

A woman suspected of stabbing a therapist at an office in Fullerton was killed Thursday morning in a police shooting.

The shooting was reported in the 1600 block of East Chapman Avenue. The 40-year-old therapist, hospitalized with non-life-threatening injuries, called 911 to report the attack.

Officers responded to the office at about 7:30 a.m. The woman was barricaded inside the office with her therapist when police arrived.

Officers forced their way in and opened fire, police said. 

The stabbing suspect, who was holding the knife when officers arrived, died at the scene, police said. No officers were injured.

A knife was recovered at the scene, police said.
