A report of a blood-covered woman running on the shoulder of the 15 Freeway in Lake Elsinore led officers to the discovery of a dead man in the driver's seat of a box truck on Saturday, the California Highway Patrol said.
A passing motorist called 911 at about 7:30 a.m. and alerted a dispatcher that the woman was running around the southbound freeway shoulder, the CHP said.
When officers arrived they found an injured man dead behind the wheel of a box truck and the woman nearby, uninjured but bloodied, according to the CHP.
She was detained for questioning and investigators were treating the case as a possible homicide, the CHP said.
