Man Found on Roof After Police Pursuit, Neighborhood Search

The man led police on a very brief pursuit.

A man was found on a roof after leading police on a pursuit, fleeing the car, and igniting a neighborhood search. Robert Kovacik reports for the NBC4 News at 11 on Wednesday, Feb. 3, 2016.

After a man led police on a pursuit in South LA, he fled the car and ignited an hourslong search that ended with him being found on a roof Wednesday.

The pursuit itself only lasted about a minute long and ended near East Century Boulevard and Anzac Avenue.

A manhunt ensued, with police scouring the South LA neighborhood. Authorities warned residents to stay indoors as they searched.

When the LAPD later located the man on a roof, it was all caught on camera.

With K-9s in tow, police shouted to the man to get off the roof.

He was taken into custody.
