One Man Shot in Leg Near Santa Monica Pier

The shooting happened around 10 p.m. and the victim was taken to the hospital in an ambulance according to the Santa Monica Police Department. Darsha Philips reports for the NBC4 News at 11 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 16, 2019.

One person was shot in the leg in a parking lot adjacent to the Santa Monica Pier Wednesday night, police said.

No motive was immediately known for the shooting, Sgt. Greer of the Santa Monica Police Department said.

The shooting victim was interviewed by officers en route to the hospital, the sergeant said. He was not immediately identified.

Police said that the victim suffered non-life threatening injuries.

No arrests were reported early Thursday.
