Threat Prompts Extra Security at Van Nuys High School

A threat made on social media has prompted extra security at Van Nuys High School. Michelle Valles reports for Today in LA on Oct. 16, 2017.

A social media threat has prompted an increased police presence at a Southern California school.

The person who issued the threat said they wanted to "kill everyone" at Van Nuys High School in a Snapchat direct message. 

The Los Angeles School Police Department was notified of the threat, although school will remain in session on Monday.

Students will notice an increased police presence.
