Neighbors Evacuated in South LA Standoff

Residents in a South Los Angeles neighborhood were evacuated after a man barricaded himself inside a home. Rick Montanez reports for Today in LA on Monday, May 16, 2016.

Residents were evacuated early Monday during a standoff in a South Los Angeles neighborhood that ended with an arrest.

Police received a report of a man with a gun at about 4 a.m. near 60th Place and Budlong Avenue. The man was the only person inside the home, according to police.

Nearby homes were evacuated as SWAT members responded to the residence.

The man was taken into custody at about 6:30 a.m. Details regarding the arrest were not immediately available.
