Lest you think the head-in-the-sand school of management is limited to large financial institutions and auto makers being bailed out by the federal government, here’s a little reminder that it remains alive and well in sports.
Does Clippers Coach and General Manager Mike Dunleavy deserved to be fired for assembling and coaching a roster that is 4-17 out of the gate? Is his job in the least bit of danger?
Apparently not. First Dunleavy himself in the LA Times.
"I don't think that's the case," Dunleavy said of the possibility of his being fired. "I think we're headed in the right direction. I think we've got a good group. We haven't had our whole group together all season, or in the preseason."
Then there is Team President Andy Roeser.

Obviously all the problems were Elgin Baylor’s fault and his alone. With him gone everything is going to be just fine. Same as it ever was.
