A bicyclist was killed after he was struck by a hit-and-run driver Wednesday in Stanton.
The crash occurred at around 2:40 a.m. near Beach Boulevard and Chapman Avenue, according to the Orange County Sheriff's Department.
The victim, an adult male, was taken to the hospital in critical condition. He later died from his injuries, sheriff's deputies said.
The hit-and-run vehicle was described only as silver and champagne in color and possibly a Nissan. Authorities said they have detained a person in connection with the hit-and-run.
