A 16-year-old boy was in serious condition after he was shot, possibly in the head, outside of a high school in Ontario, police said.
The shooting was reported around 9:33 p.m. on the grounds of Chaffey High School near 4th Street, according to the Ontario Police Department.
Police arrived and found the victim with a gunshot wound. The teen was transported to a hospital in serious condition.
Police said the victim was not a student at the school and there were no school functions at the time of the shooting.
Police said they were looking for a vehicle with dark tinted windows.
It was unclear what led up to the shooting.
A description of the shooter was not immediately available.
