1 Dead, 2 Injured in Shooting at Monrovia Restaurant

A man died and two other men were injured early Saturday in a shooting at a Monrovia restaurant, according to the Monrovia Police Department.

The shooting was reported just after midnight on the 100 block of East Olive Avenue at the Gem City Grill, police said. A physical altercation at the restaurant escalated and one person opened fire, according to Monrovia police.

All three victims were transported to nearby hospitals, where one man died.

Myrtle Avenue and Lemon Avenue have been closed while police conduct an investigation.

The conditions of the surviving victims are unknown.
