A violent crash in Orange County left two people dead after a car slammed into a home late Saturday night.

The driver of an SUV was traveling “at a high rate of speed” around 11:44 PM when the vehicle veered off the side of the street and went airborne, crashing into a home on the 5600 block of Lakeview Avenue in Yorba Linda, according to Orange County Fire Authority Public Information Officer Steven Horner.

Two people in the SUV died at the scene. The Orange County Coroner's office identified them as Yorba Linda residents Danielle Velazquez, 40, and Donald Wall, 39.

Six family members were evacuated from the home, with two adults and one child being transported to an area hospital with minor injuries.

Police on Sunday were investigating whether drugs or alcohol played a factor in the crash.
