Vandals Target Church

Someone spray painted demonic symbols on a Roman Catholic church in Lynwood. Conan Nolan reports for the NBC4 News at 5 p.m. on Monday, Nov. 30, 3015.

Vandals targeted a Roman Catholic church in Lynwood, painting demonic symbols on the doors, statues and signs.

The vandals struck overnight Saturday or early Sunday morning at St. Emydius Church, at 10900 California Ave.

Vandals cut off the hands of a statue and apparently spray painted "666" on a church sign.

"It's unacceptable," said Lynwood Mayor Jose Luis Solache. "We will not tolerate it."

Pastor Rigoberto Rodriguez thinks the person or people responsible either worship Satan or are on drugs.

Anyone with information was asked to contact the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department.
