Wishing Tree: Class in Need Gets Learning Tools, Games, More

Night 3: Maureen Catapia, a special education resource teacher at 66th Street Elementary School, has made a difference in her students’ lives, but wants to continue to give more. Her class of 30 students are low-income, and she wished to put a smile on their faces this holiday season. NBC4 granted her wish with $1,000 worth of school supplies, courtesy of Lakeshore Learning, and $200 gift cards to Target for each of her students. Catapia was also given a gift basket that contained several goodies such as AMC movie tickets and a family pack of admission to Universal Studios Hollywood. Fritz Coleman helped grant Catapia’s wish on the NBC4 News at 6 on Wednesday, Dec. 14, 2016.
