A woman was killed, her three children were airlifted to a hospital and a man suffered minor injuries in a crash in the Quartz Hill area west of Lancaster, authorities said.
It happened at about 12:45 p.m. on Saturday near 40th Street West and Avenue L, Lt. T. Bruner of the Lancaster Sheriff's Station said.
The woman was driving a Suburban SUV straight ahead and the man was turning left in a full-sized Dodge pickup truck when they collided, Bruner said.
The woman was pronounced dead at the scene, her three children were airlifted to Children's Hospital of Los Angeles and the man in the pickup was taken to Antelope Valley Hospital for treatment of minor injuries, the lieutenant said.
The crash remained under investigation, he said.
